This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 13th Australasian Conference on Information Security and Privacy, ACISP 2008, held in Wollongong, Australia, in July 2008. The 33 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 111 submissions. The papers cover a range of topics in information security, including authentication, key management, public key cryptography, privacy, anonymity, secure communication, ciphers, network security, elliptic curves, hash functions, and database security.
Cryptography and Vedic Mathematics are one of the fundamental branches of Mathematics and this book aims to serve as a reference book for the researchers. It can also be read with great interest by students of engineering. The material of the book has been arranged into sections spread out over seven chapters. Each chapter begins with a brief introduction which provides motivation and a keen desire to proceed with the material of the chapter. Several examples have been given for ready reference for solving problems in Cryptography and Vedic Mathematics. Remarks and notes at places and exercises have been given at the end of each section to increase the knowledge by applying previous results.
